Does Your Family Know Who Handles Your Legal Matters?
Identify the attorneys and legal professionals who help keep the law on your side.
If you hired an attorney to assist you with estate planning, have ongoing legal matters, or require legal support for any reason, it’s crucial to include their contact info so your family and loved ones are aware of the scope of your legal affairs.
It’s quite easy to keep organized. The list doesn't mention every type of legal profession, but it’ll get you started:
- Corporate Law
- Criminal Defense
- Estate Planning
- Employment
- Family/Divorce
- Personal Injury
- Property Law
The goal is to make it as easy as possible for your family or loved ones to get in touch with your legal pros. You might just want to include a name, phone number or email address to point your family or loved ones in the right direction. If it’s a big firm without a direct contact, then the company name, location, and your account number should suffice.
Keep Your Plan Up-To-Date: Make sure all of the stuff listed above is neatly organized, updated, and shared in the “Attorneys” section of your Everplan.
